Newcastle International Airport is in the heart of the North East. With the A1 is the principal north south road by-passing the City Centre and leading direct to the airport.

From the north:
The A1 is the principal road linking to the dual carriageway A696 leading directly to Newcastle International Airport.

From Edinburgh:
The A68/A696 provides a direct road to the airport.

A74 between Glasgow and Carlisle to Newcastle International Airport.

From the south:
Drive North on the A1, the road by-passes Newcastle City Centre as it connects with the A696 to the Airport.

From the west:
The A69 links with the A1 and then the A696, to Newcastle International Airport

By Metro / Rail

The Metro fast transit system is a convenient way of travelling to the Airport from within Tyne and Wear, which includes the city centres and mainline railway stations at Newcastle and Sunderland
The Airport Metro station is immediately adjacent to the passenger terminal. The journey takes 23 minutes from Newcastle Central Station and services are provided up to every 7 minutes.

Newcastle Central station is a principal mainline station on the Great North East Railway line with direct services from London and Scotland.

Durham Tees Valley Airport can be easily accessed from the A1(M), A19 and the A66. We're located only 6 miles east of Darlington, on the A67.

The railway station at Darlington is located approximately 7 miles east of Durham Tees Valley Airport and is a short bus or taxi ride.

By Bus

Sky Express service 737 offers direct connections daily to and from Durham Tees Valley Airport, Darlington Train Station and Darlington Town Hall, allowing onward connections throughout the North including Durham, Newcastle and York.

The dedicated bus service is free for air passengers.
